Masterton, Carterton, and South Wairarapa District Councils have now completed the hearing process and on 8 October 2025 made decisions on the Proposed District Plan.

If submitters do not agree with the Councils’ decision on the Proposed District Plan and seek a different outcome, they have 30 working days to lodge an appeal to the Environment Court (21 November 2025).
Council will prepare an appeals version of the plan, which will identify which provisions are subject to appeal with indicative timeframes being December 2025 - early 2026.
